So, in order to add in permissions to the website, and because I haven't made the greatest programming choices in the past, I think I'm going to need to do a complete overhaul (yet again) of my website. What does this mean for you? Not a lot, at least for the near future. Also, I don't think this will bring about quite the same changes as were made last time, where I added a custom made message board. It will mostly be a tweaking of what I currently have, going through all my existing code and trying to make it better.

More updates to come when I get a better grasp on what I'm going to be doing.

...and three months down the road, I'm able to display the home page. Now all I have left to do is the message board, and the log-in system, and...

So, I'm not very far, yet. On the plus side, I'm currently able to switch a text-only version of the site and one using tables for layouts just by changing one line of code. I'm also hoping to include an advanced version of the site for the browsers that can handle it.

It doesn't help that I've also decided to re-make the database...

Oh well, at least I have a pretty-darn-functional site to use in the meantime.

Sorry for the lack of updates. And activity... My life has been crazy busy with all the theatre I've been doing this semester. Hopefully I'll get a bit of work done on the website over my holiday break.

Well, the log-in system is complete. Now to start work on the new message board, book exchange site, private messaging system, and permissions management. And, I should probably actually make some sort of moderator and admin control panel this time around. Yeah, I don't think I'll be making any public releases anytime soon...

I have a feeling that the Abandoned Project won't be carried over to the new site. Not initially, at least. I've got a lot of other things (stated above) that will take higher priority. Not to mention no one has really posted to it for a while now..

On the bright side, though, I am really liking how the new site is turning out. I spent a bit of time designing the structure, and I think it has really turned out well. I'd post some screenshots, but [a] I haven't even begun to work on skinning, and [b] a ton of what I have been working on is backend-related, and it's not something you could tell by looking at some pictures. If it gets further along, maybe I'll think of posting some pictures.

A few nice changes I've made so far:

- When you log in/out, you are taken back to the previous page (and not the home page like with this site)

- There is a navigation bar between the "logo box" and the "main content box"

I prefer not to mention dates quite yet. I feel like a) it would not be particularly encouraging, and b) it would probably be grossly inaccurate...

Honestly, I don't think I'll be able to work on it that much before I graduate. I certainly won't have that much time while Much Ado is going on, maybe I'll be able to work on it more after that finishes.
