Yeah, it would be nice to have some way to tell if there were new posts, and where (not to mention the mentioned icons). If I can figure out how in the world I store the new post/no new post info, I'll try to add icons, as well.

Also, in the next version of my website, I do have a permanent navigation bar. I'm well aware that my current user interface could, um, use a bit of work.
