Q: Why are you doing this?
A: First off, I like receiving mail. Second, I wouldn't mind getting to know some new people. Third, I had an idea to do this, and I'm just curious if it can/will go anywhere.
Q: Why don't you just use email? Why do you insist on writing letters? Do you have something against email?
A: No, I don't have anything against emails. I just like letters more. I feel they're more personal. They're also something physical, that you can hold on to and save. Sure, you can print emails, and you can save them to some folder, somewhere online (or on your computer), but it's not the same. I also feel like letter writing is a dying art, at least among the younger generations.
Q: What if I don't want to share personal information, like my name or address?
A: Well, you're going to have to share your address with me for me to respond. Your name, you don't have to include your full name. If you'd like, you can just include your first name, or first name and last initial, if you're concerned about privacy.
If you're a minor, make sure you get permission from your parents/an adult before sending me mail. If they want to know more about this, feel free to show this website, or give them my email address (available on my contact page).
Q: I don't speak English very well. Can I write to you in another language?
A: Besides English, I know a little Spanish from taking a few years' worth in high school in college. While I do have some friends that speak other languages (and, if you want, i could try to get them to write to you), I really only know English (and that bit of Spanish).
Q: I see you're from the U.S. Will you send mail to other countries?
A: I will accept mail from any country that will send it to me. As long as I can read/understand it, I will respond to whatever mail I get.
